Babette
Our most formal dining space is ideal for a proper luncheon or an elegant dinner. Babette features New American cuisine, with French techniques and East Asian touches, highlighting seasonal ingredients.
The story behind the name: Inspired by the French dinner-of-a-lifetime at the center of the 1987 Danish film "Babette’s Feast," and the story by Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen). Like the feast in "Babette’s Feast," the experience is about more than food—it is an expression of generosity, artistry, and the quiet luxury of genuine hospitality.
Think of Babette as the matriarch, the head of the household, who has passed along her love of literature, music, socializing (and a good meal, of course) to her “daughters.” It’s no doubt fine dining, but still evokes all the comforts of home.

Bar Babette
Our corner bar overlooking Fifth Avenue serves cocktails, of course, along with a full raw bar and classics like burgers, steak tartare, and frites to die for. Bar Babette is the perfect perch for the solo diner or a quick catch-up with an old friend.
Think of Bar Babette as the mature middle child, but with a wild side. Classy, sophisticated, and always best-dressed. Martini in one hand, plate of oysters in the other—is the forever connector and balanced mediator.

Lil's
Our cozy and sophisticated piano lounge and sitting room. The ideal venue for low-key evenings and jazz. Elevated small plates, bar snacks, and our complete cocktail and wine program will be on offer. A Steinway & Sons Baby Grand Piano anchors the space.
The story behind the name: Lil’s is named after and inspired by Lil Hardin Armstrong, a classically trained pianist, composer, and one of the most influential women in early jazz. She was both wife and collaborator of jazz legend Louis Armstrong and helped launch his solo career.
Think of Lil’s as the eldest sister—a studious academic, mysterious, musical, and a little moody. Laser-focused on her career, a cocktail and a little jazz are her respite.

Our library bar and post-Symposium hangout. Inklings serves a selection of ever-evolving small plates. Experimental cocktails are poured exclusively in Sophie Lou Jacobsen glassware.
The story behind the name: Inspired by our iconic illustrated Inklings—the abstract, mischievous creatures that represent the “id” of club members, created by artist Catherine Potvin.
Think of Inkling’s as the cheeky little sister. Changes personality every six months depending on what she’s reading, or who she’s dating…
