From Moss, the exquisitely designed Manhattan members’ club dedicated to intelligent leisure, this week’s Member Council Cocktail Party was a jubilant gesture toward key figures in its cultural ecosystem. Invited to activate the club with programmatic ideas as well as other individuals from their creative communities, the member council is composed of leaders in fashion, art, editorial, and more. According to Patrick Dooley, who orchestrated the experience within Moss’ Inklings, assembling the council was “about finding a balance. The design of a room can feel beautiful, but it always has to be more than that. People do not have to have the same interests; they just have to share curiosity. It’s about finding people with an openness and generosity.”
Dooley—who has convened the personalities in rooms at elite organizations from London to Grand Cayman—is driven by the idea that five-star luxury service can lead with warmth. “Luxury comes at a comfort level,” he says. “It’s always about comfort.”
